We like to draw you guy’s attention to interesting horror themed crowdfunding projects, and we’re genuinely happy when indie creators secure the funds to create original horror content. A while ago, indie slasher Pi Day Die Day was a little short of it’s full goal on IndieGOGO, but the team secured the rest of the funds and the film is set to premier this year.
One Stoplight Productions, LLC and Cullen Park Productions will be hosting the premiere of their locally filmed slasher-comedy Pi Day Die Day. The first premiere will be at the Clazel Theatre in Bowling Green, OH on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm ET, and a second premiere will follow at the Maumee Indoor Theater in Maumee, OH on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 7:00 pm ET. Pi Day Die Day is the first film written by Lindsey LaForest and is directed by behind the screen veteran Michael E. Cullen II. The film features talented actors Mark Klein, Kaitlin Herrick, and MaryAnn Mead, as well as horror favorites Ari Lehman and Colton Tapp. Ari is most notable for portraying the first Jason Voorhees in t Friday the 13th. Colton is an actor/vocalist whose talent can soon be seen in the film Three Days in August co-starring Barry Bostwick.
The film follows in a long horror tradition of taking place on a specific holiday. This is one we’ve not seen before though – Pie Day. The film takes place on March 14, Pi Day, whereon a serial killer is on the loose in the fictional small Ohio town of Euclid Falls. The students of Euclid High fear for their lives as their classmates disappear, falling victim to this elusive murderer. With the help of Euclid High’s math teacher, Mr. Douglas, Detectives Mahoney and Beecher find clues to solve this circle of bloodshed.
