Universal Monsters Reimagined as Religious Figures

They’re among the longest lived and most recognisable of cinema icons, and now the classic Universal Monsters have been reimagined as religious figures by artist Iain Burke.

The series is titled ‘Holy Hell’, and features iconic horror characters including Frankensteins monster, the Wolfman and the Phantom of the Opera. They resemble religious woodcuts and carved artwork from the medieval period which traditionally featured saints and other religious figures.
