English brothers Jake and Dinos Chapman create a unique and terrifying vision of hell in their apocalyptic exhibition. The biblical style scenes of carnage and destruction are, in their latest work showcasing a world overrun by a menacing, corrupt McDonalds influence.
The capitalist and corruption vision of Hell features Hitler, Nazi soldiers and Ronald McDonald in various states of suffering. It’s a deeply unsettling, but highly impressive piece in which Ronald meets his fate via crucifixion and Hitler begs for water in a McDonald’s branded cup.
The brothers have been making art with this theme for many years. The duo’s first work in this vein was simply titled Hell. Debuted in 1999, it eventually burned down in a warehouse fire – which is a bit unsettling if you believe in otherworldly forces.
