News Bites

Happy Monday everyone! Let’s dive into the first News Bites of the week, we have a couple of really exciting things going on in the world of independent horror.

First, we heard about this exciting crowd funding project. The Music of Erich Zann, based on the work of iconic horror writer H.P Lovecraft, is set to be made into an independent film. The team behind the project explain –

The Music of Erich Zann will be a short film based off of HP Lovecraft’s original and terrifying masterpiece of suspense. The style of this film will be very atmospheric and high contrast, similar to the Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter films. Most of the dialogue for this film will be taken word for word from Lovecraft’s original story, THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE, (To our knowledge), and is a real treat for fans of the author and newcomers alike! The goal of this Kickstarter is to produce a quality film that is both visually beautiful and artistically interesting. Please Join us in creating an exciting film that WE ALL can be proud of.”

Check out the video below for more information, and check out the Kickstarter page to donate to the project.

We have been watching the ABCs of Death II search for the 26th director, and seen some amazing films as the contest unfolded. As a big fan of body horror, I loved this entry – M is for Metamorphose. The film is directed by Sergio Morcillo and is brutal, shocking, and generally awesome. Make sure you check it out below.
