HEIR is a disturbing, thought provoking practical FX driven horror short film from FATAL PICTURES, the team behind the the critically acclaimed, award winning shorts Worm and Familiar. Fatal Pictures is a independent production company based out of Toronto/Canada, With major focus of Genre film founded in 2007 by Zach Green & Richard Powell.
Their previous work has received attention in the horror comunity, and the team believe Heir will be their final short before moving into feature films. The synopsis for the film reads – “After connecting with a stranger of similar interests online, Gordon and his young son Paul, embark on an ill-fated road trip in which Gordon aims to indulge a secret passion. Before the day ends a horrible truth will be uncovered and a harsh lesson will be learned. HEIR is a monster movie unlike any other, it is a bleak and fantastical examination of one of societies darkest taboos that aims to stimulate the mind and wrench the gut with equal power.”
On their crowdfunding page, the team explain “Our goal is not only to create a chillingly memorable short film but to demonstrate what can be done after a film is funded. Our supporters will see the film they helped make in festivals around the world, in print and in distribution. That is our commitment, to produce one of the most successful crowd funded film projects to date, but in order for that to happen we need the assistance of film lovers and filmmakers just like you.”
As part of their promotional campaign, Fatal Pictures released the script for the film to members of the horror community.
