Here’s a unique indie horror project, combining horror story-telling and traditional spooky tales with hand-made sculptures.
Precipice Books and Anthony J. Rapino launched the GREETINGS FROM MOON HILL Kickstarter Campaign earlier today. The campaign promises some great rewards, including Box of Dread Giveaways, horror sculptures, and the signed hardcover horror collection of Greetings from Moon Hill (Precipice Books, October 2016).
Greetings from Moon Hill is a new collection of stories by horror author Anthony J. Rapino, set in and around the fictional town of Moon Hill, Pennsylvania. The collection includes new and out-of-print stories, the novella Reality Engineers (previously only available in audio), and three chapters from Rapino’s long-awaited second novel, The Shadows of Flies.
However, the team wanted to offer something more unique than a straightforward story collection. As it happens, author Rapino is also a talented sculptor and owner of the online horror shop Candy Corn Apocalypse. He set out to create a strong mythos surrounding Moon Hill, sculpture artifacts and characters from the fictional location.
Precipice Books is a small press specializing in horror and speculative fiction, delivering a unique premium experience to readers across a variety of mediums. This campaign was conceived as a way to offer a unique experience for all fans of horror: one in which a reader could possess tangible artifacts that come directly from the fictional world they are traversing. Perk level rewards include a full-sized map of Moon Hill, postcards, the limited edition signed and number hardcover horror collection, two unique and exclusive horror sculptures based on the Moon Hill mythology, a one-of-a-kind sculpture made to your specifications, and Moon Hill mystery boxes.
Being a huge fan of concepts like Halloween Town and the universe in which Trick R Treat takes place, I’m fascinated to here more about this spooky location. Here’s the creator’s description of Moon Hill:
“Somewhere in Northeastern Pennsylvania, nestled between the forests and foothills of the Poconos, you’ll find the forgotten town of Moon Hill. It’s a surreal place of arcane magic and natural wonder, where a hint of autumn lingers in the air, the leaves are always turning, and the shadows grow long no matter the time of day.
You might say Moon Hill is special, a pocket of Americana frozen in time, filled with eccentric characters and deathly secrets that transcend dimensions. And like most small towns, it also has a dark side.
We’d like to show it to you.”
