What happens when you shift the theme music for five horror franchises from their natural minor key into a major one? The results are surprisingly cute. Most horror movie themes are performed in a minor key to provide creepy tone and a sense of dread. Musician, writer, and filmmaker Ian Gordon re-recorded versions of some very well-known minor-key horror themes, only he transposed them to a major key.
The results turn creepy dread into upbeat elevator music, covering five major franchises – The X-Files, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street,The Exorcist, and Saw. Check out the video below.
