Get prepared for paranormal activity this summer with Ghost Team featuring an all-star ensemble cast that includes Jon Heder, David Krumholtz, Melonie Diaz, Paul W. Downs, Justin Long and Amy Sedaris. The horror comedy, directed, produced and co-written by Oliver Irving (How To Be), debuts today, July 21, exclusively on Google Play for free for a limited time before it hits theaters nationwide on August 12. The film expands to additional on demand platforms on August 30.
Determined to catch some ghosts on film, a paranormal-obsessed man (Jon Heder) mounts his own investigation into the beyond with his depressed best friend (David Krumholtz), misfit nephew (Paul W. Downs), a whip-smart beautician (Melonie Diaz), a cable access medium (Amy Sedaris) and an overeager security guard (Justin Long) by his side.
Ghost Team is available for free until August 25, 2016 on Google Play to residents in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Botswana, Cambodia, Fiji, Jamaica, Macedonia, Malta, Namibia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Principal photography on Ghost Team took place during fall 2015 in New York, on Long Island and in Brooklyn. The Orchard acquired distribution rights late last year. “When you pair a script this hilarious with a cast this funny, and bring talent like Oliver Irving to the table, it’s really a no-brainer for us,” said Paul Davidson, The Orchard’s SVP of Film and TV in an interview with The Wrap, “We’re thrilled to be involved with ‘Ghost Team’ at this early stage and bring it to audiences next year.”
