Of all the various properties and imagery that Disney own, its odd how some of the most obscure seem to attract their own fandom. Who would think that out of all the rides and attractions at their theme parks, all the characters, logos and mascots – that one of the biggest icons would be a chilled dessert?
The Dole Whip (the biggest selling food item in the parks) is a dairy free frozen dessert served in most of Disney’s parks around the world.
The recipe was actually created for the company, as part of a sponsorship deal on Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. The attraction featured a show of tropical birds, and the cold treat was designed to fit with the theme.
However, Disney imagineers occasionally retheme the iconic dessert for special occasions and anniversaries. For Halloween 2020 the Dole Whip has undergone a spooky makeover paying tribute to creepy classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
‘The Headless Horseman Rides Again’ , which is now available at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom, is a delicious new Dole Whip that Guests will fall in love with. Disney Parks describes this treat as “Strawberry DOLE Whip with Fanta Strawberry and a Headless Horseman Novelty Straw”.
