Artist Uses Horror Illustration to Support Mental Health Charity

13511622_1639527819701616_110754176_n Here’s a project where you can get your hands on some great horror artwork, and support mental health charity MIND. Stephen, also known as Folklore is an artist from Liverpool, who created the project. Inspired by his love of horror, film and pop-culture he coined the title ‘Dark Arts Doodles’ to describe his whimsical series. Stephen explains: “I’m very serious about my work and would love people to enjoy it as much as I like creating it. I’m stepping out into the world for the first time with my art in the hope that people may view it, understand it and hopefully want to purchase one.”

For every piece he sells in the series, the artist will make a donation to MIND. The charity provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental illness.

Most of Stephen’s work is light-hearted caricatures of his favourite horror villains, although he does produce more life-like pop culture character illustrations.
