Cannibals & Carpet Fitters Seeks Funding

Cannibals & Carpet Fitters is a British horror -comedy that tells the story of a group of carpet fitters who are sent on a job to an old Country house in the middle of nowhere. However they soon discover it’s a trap set up by the savage, cannibalistic family, The Hannings. The carpet fitters are forced to fight for their lives or risk ending up being the evenings dinner. Unfortunately they are not quite your typical heroes! The team are currently seeking funding on Kickstarter to support the film.

It’s based on the original award winning short film “Cannibals & Carpet Fitters” that the team created a couple of years ago. The short screened at Cannes, NYC Horror Fest, Chicago Horror Fest, Shriekfest LA and went on to win the Dead Shorts competition at Leeds International 2014. The team always planned to expand their concept to a feature film, begging work on it at the same time as the short. The team promise that  “for the feature you can expect more cannibals, more carpet fitters, more laughs and of course more gore! “

Director James Bushe and writer Richard Lee O’Donnell cite films such as Evil Dead 2, Shaun of the Dead, Dog Soldiers and The Cottage as their influences, admiring the way they merge horror with other genres.

The film already has some recognisable horror names attached, including Meg Foster (Masters of the Universe, They Live, Rob Zombie’s upcoming horror ‘31‘) and Ian Whyte (The Predator from AVP, Game of Thrones, the Engineer in Prometheus).

Kickstarter staff have marked the project as a ‘Project We Love’. There are also some awesome rewardsfor supporting the movie – including signed scripts, Blurays & DVDs,  invitations to the film screening and the opportunity to appear in the film or come on board as a producer.

Head over to Kickstarter to find out more, and keep up to date with the project on Facebook and Twitter.
