David Cronenberg’s 1986 cult classic The Fly is one of the most respected remakes in horror, as well as often being cited as the prime example of the body-horror sub-genre. Watching Seth Brundle transform and disintegrate slowly into a hideous creature stayed in everyone’s mind long after the finished watching, and now an artist has attempted to capture that horror in a set of nesting dolls. We’ve showcased some amazing horror themed variations on the dolls before, and here’s another gruesome hand-painted set!
Artist Andy Stattmiller hand painted this 5 piece set as part of an upcoming exhibition for Gallery 1988. The largest doll is 4.5 inches tall and the smallest is the size of a real life fly at just 1 inch.
