Be Afraid of the Fairground with CarousHELL

Independent slasher CarousHELL is available to pre-order via Silver Spotlight FilmsThe film, which focuses on a killer carousel horse is set set for release this Halloween season, on October 3rd.

CarousHELL was filmed over the course of 12 days. Director Steve Rudzinski, who decided he wanted to direct horror movies after watching Army of Darkness at age twelve, was inspired by his love of the slasher icons. He explains: “Even in films with characters you root for it’s not hard to understand why so many people root for the villains in those stories. Especially fun are the talking killers with personality, such as Chucky or Freddy Krueger, who are so charismatic it could be argued that THEY are the main characters in their films.”

Killer object films, like Death Bed: The Bed that Eats and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, have a special place in horror history. Combined with the creativity a theme park setting could allow for, it’s definitely got us intrigued.

Here’s the synopsis: “Duke hates his job. He has to let kids climb on his back and ride him for hours every single day. Butone brat finally pushed him too far. Duke has broken free of his ride and is on a bloody rampage of revenge. He’s going to murder that kid and anyone that gets in his way.”

Wildwood Highlands provided the fairground setting for the film. The main location for the  entire film was a new, bright house in Bridgeville, PA. The wide areas, multiple rooms, and large yard made it perfect for helping explain how characters could be unaware of what was happening elsewhere.
