Awesomely Terrifying Shark Baby Bed Inspired by ‘Jaws’
Joseph Reginella is a Staten Island-based sculptor and toy designer who has created some incredible pieces for theme parks, attractions and museums. His works have included creepy giant spiders and other impressive sculptures as part of Themendous. When creating a bed for a friends son, he decided to get creative and create something non-traditional.
He was inspired by classic 1975 horror film Jaws, and he features a menacing shark attacking a small boat. The piece took around a week to complete and was sculpted from styrofoam, coated it in plastic, and painted it the appropriate colors. “At a shop Themendous, we made an airplane bed for some little kid in California, and I thought it would be funny if someone would order a terrifying bed instead of something mainstream,” Reginella told CNET.
He was so overwhelmed by the response to the bed, that he has began taking orders. So if you’d like to see your baby, or pet, swallowed by Bruce the shark – you can commission one from his website.
