Canada-based artist Matthew Therrien has imagined horror icon Freddy Krueger in a way that might make you think again about the legendary slasher. His series of pieces, all inspired by different iterations of Freddy present the character in a classic art style.
Therrien gives the artwork a suitably dreamy style, mashing up film imagery with the character portraits and an expressionist style. The result is an abstract, otherworldly scene that captures the themes of sleep and nightmares in the franchise.
Therrien is offering limited edition signed and numbered giclee art prints of the portraits (5×7″ printed on coldpress watercolour paper with archival inks) over in his online shop.
