We’re really excited for upcoming indie game Among The Sleep, a first person horror adventure, in which you play a two year old child. We’ve previously reported on developments of the game, and we were watching with baited breath as the team smashed through their Kickstarter goal to fund the game. Today, Krillbite Studios revealed that Among the Sleep will launch on May 29th 2014, for Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems.
Among the Sleep — funded in May 2013 — places players into the footy pyjamas of a two-year-old child who is roused out of bed in the middle of a night by a series of paranormal happenings. Guided by his sentient stuffed teddy bear, the toddler must manoeuvre a nightmarish world without being swept away by what lurks within it. The team revealed to the Steam Community this week that “Currently we’re intensively testing and polishing the whole thing, optimising general performance and VR, improving visuals, doing localization to the languages listed on the Store Page, implementing full gamepad support and improving the menus.” They also signalled that development was coming to a close, by revealing the image below of the credits sequence featuring the names of people who backed the game on Kickstarter.
The title was initially in development for PC only, but early this month Krillbite confirmed Among the Sleep would also be coming to PS4. Developers hinted that they are “in dialogues regarding other consoles,” but at the time could only confirm the PS4 version. If funding goals are achieved, Among the Sleep intends to add support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset as a stretch goal.
The team behind the game also revealed a brand new (and pretty creepy) release trailer today, which you can check out below. For more information, check out the official game website.
