Terrifying Children in Vintage Ads

I love vintage adverts. They’re always full of claims that would never fly today – like cocaine cures the flu and smoking will make you a successful businessman. Some of my personal favourites are those featuring creepy kids. Something about the old-timey look of the illustrations, and the inane grins on their faces lends itself well to nightmare fuel. Below are a few of my personal favourites. Don’t have nightmares…

Sheesh, I’ve already told you I hate creepy kids in movies and now you give us creepy kids in ads who all look like cannibals ! It’s interesting how at the time these ads were made, those were considered the perfect images of children showing a love for what they are eating and not in any way unsettling

If they weren’t white kids, none of this would be aloud.
