The violence lacks the same comedically gleeful nature of the original but certainly delivers on the gore. Its great to see obviously practical effects used so creatively and convincingly.

If you’re a horror fan you NEED to see this movie. I didn’t really mention during my review that this is a remake / reboot of the 1981 classic The Evil Dead. That’s because this film really does stand on its own.

  1. Oh wow! Simply breathtaking… A horror film that contains visual, cinematic creativity by the bucket load. It brought back my confidence in horror films again. It’s a rebirth of gore done in such a cool way you don’t want the blood bath to stop. This is great moviemaking. And to top it all off, no use of CGI… Bravo. 9/10
