A Photographer Created Nightmarish Monsters Inspired by Mexican Feast
Once a year the people of San Cristóbal de las Casas in Mexico celebrate the feast of the Virgin of Mercy with costumes made to represent their sins. The uglier and more monstrous their mask is, the worse the person’s sins.
The feast influenced the work of photographer Diego Moreno – who also drew influence from his feelings towards those who discriminated against his beloved Aunt, who suffered from a skin condition.
Check out some of the images from this series, with some nightmarish creatures to haunt your dreams tonight.
