There’s some exciting going’s on in the world of indie horror, starting with this zombie novel by Nicholas Ryan. “Trapped amidst the horror of the zombie apocalypse, three men hear the sound of a helicopter overhead and know it represents their last desperate hope to survive the terror and reach safety. But survival comes at a cost – and the undead hordes that ravage the world are not the only lurking evil the men must face. But for Mitch Logan, his brother, Jed, and their friend, Clinton Harrigan, there is no choice. They must fight to survive – or Die Trying.”
The novel has been getting some great reviews on Amazon, and it’s great to see independent writers providing their own take on the current zombie craze. You can purchase the book as a digital download here.
We like to keep an eye on crowdfunding projects to see what’s coming up in independent horror. We’re big fans of creepy locations, and this indie project seems to fit the bill. The people behind Murder Mill discovered an abandoned industrial warehouse, and decided it was so atmospheric they had to make a film based around it. The story centres on four teens who break into a local abandoned mill for a night of partying. They get more than they bargained for when they discover the truth behind the legend of “Murder Mill” and its connection to the recent town suicides.
The film has already been shot, but the team need your donations for visual FX, sound, music and festival distribution. It sounds like an interesting premise, and we’d love to see how it turns out. You can find out more about the film, or make a donation here.
