The countdown to the premier of Ryan Murphey’s Scream Queens is getting closer and closer, and the show’s latest promotional image should get horror fans excited. With a series centered on Scream Queens, it’s only fitting to have Jamie Lee Curtis star. In the show, the horror legend will play the dean of a university where a twenty year old murder mystery is re-ignited.
Curtis today shared on her Instagram an image of herself recreating the iconic shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. She revealed that the upcoming series will pay homage to the film in some way.
Of course, horror fans will know that Marion Crane – the victim in the scene being killed by Norman Bates – was played by Jamie Lee Curtis’ real life mother, Janet Leigh.
The actress explained: “Just recreated, with help from the amazing crew, a shot by shot of my mother’s famous shower scene from Hitchcock’s PSYCHO for Scream Queens. Ryan Murphy and co. wrote it into a special episode and it felt right! Honoring the Royal legend that is/was/will always be, Janet Leigh. Thought all fans of the genre would love it!”
Scream Queens also stars Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Joe Manganiello, Keke Palmer, and Abigail Breslin.
