The Gruesome and Gooey Infants of Artist Johnson Tsang
We seem to fall into two camps, people who think babies are squishy balls of adorableness, and those who think they’re potential demon spawn. But these babies will leave anyone feeling unsettled.
Johnson Tsang , a Hong Kong-based sculptor who has received international acclaim , blends realist sculpting techniques with surrealist imagery. Tsang gives everyday objects anthropomorphic qualities and instilling them with a sense of movement and fluidity.
He often uses infants in his sculpted works, sometimes to convey dark and eerie images including anti-war protests.
The hyper realistic babies are fascinating, but extremely unsettling. Check out more at the artist’s official Behance profile.
