Artist Makes Vintage VHS Covers for Modern Horror Movies

by

Just as it seemed to be fading into obscurity – the VHS format has experienced something of a revival among horror fans. Some are turning old tapes into works of art, some are making movies based on VHS’s cultural impact, and some are getting creative with the VCR players themselves.

Steelberg is an artist offering his own unique tribute to the classic VHS cover art many horror fans grew up with. He creates vintage style VHS boxes with period-authentic artwork – for current and modern horror films! They even feature awesome little touches like the sticky video store labels which used to plaster the cases. Get ready for some nostalgic feels, and check out some of our favourite below – including Cabin in the Woods and The Witch. You can check out Steelber’s latest works on Instagram.
