This Artist Draws Horror Characters As They Were Written in Original Books

by

We all know that when novels are adapted to film form, the source material can be altered for the purpose of a more marketable or engaging movie. Horror is no exception, with some of the most iconic films being both inspired by and very different from the original stories.

Filmmaker and digital artist Brian J. Davis wanted to showcase the differences between horror characters as they appear in cinema, and how they are described in the original novels. Using law enforcement composite sketch software, Davis put together more accurate drawings of characters including Dracula and Norman Bates. Check out some of them below, and find more info on the project here.

Frankenstien – The Monster

Misery – Annie Wilkes

Carrie – Carrie White

The Silence of the Lambs – Clarice Starling

The Silence of the Lambs – Hannibal Lecter
